What we process, and why
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard technical logs when pages are served — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps. These exist for security and error diagnosis, are kept only for the provider's standard short retention period, and are never used to identify or profile individual visitors. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running a functioning, secure website.
Your cookie choice
When you accept or decline in the cookie banner, that single preference is stored in your own browser's local storage so we can stop asking. It never leaves your device. Details in the cookie policy.
Email you send us
If you write to us, we hold your address and message for as long as the correspondence needs — then it's deleted. Nothing about you is added to any list; there is no newsletter.
Fonts
Pages load the Fraunces typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers and Google receives the technical request data any web request carries. Google's own privacy policy governs that processing.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, and therefore no account data.
- No advertising trackers, remarketing pixels or cross-site profiles.
- No sale or rental of any data to anyone, in any form.
- No processing of gambling activity — play happens on operators' sites under their own privacy policies, which you should read separately.
When you leave this site
Links to casino operators carry a tracking reference that tells the operator you arrived from Reel Matchup — that is how the affiliate model works, as described in our disclosure. From the moment you land on an operator's site, its privacy policy applies, not ours.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold — which, in practice, is at most an email exchange you had with us. Write to editor@reelmatchup.com and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle it, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) is the UK supervisory authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with an updated effective date. There is no mailing list to notify because we don't keep one — checking this page is the reliable route.
